Programes que promouen l’excel·lència educativa i fomenten les vocacions científiques
Eager to become an expert of regenerative medicine by building bioactive scaffolds?
Join us at the two-week excellence program Barcelona International Youth Science Challenge (BIYSC) of Catalunya-La Pedrera Foundation and feel like a real scientist working on tissue and organ regeneration at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC). Test your scaffold’s ability to induce angiogenesis, a crucial property for the successful regeneration of tissues, and for the organ replacement of the future. Leading scientists of IBEC challenge young students to participate in the latest scientific advances in regenerative medicine using cutting-edge biomedicine engineering techniques as real scientists!
Participants will review the development of target-specificic biomaterial scaffolds based on in situ tissue regeneration, that uses the body’s own regenerating capacity by mobilizing host endogenous stem cells or tissue-specific progenitor cells to the site of the injury. The students will test the capability of these bioactive scaffolds to induce angiogenesis, that has a key role in the successful regeneration of tissues.
Pursue your scientific research passions and share them with other young students from all over the world!
